Comacchio has introduced its new MC 20 A, a compact drilling rig designed to cope with particularly heavy machining using double-headed drilling techniques.

The MC 20 A is the latest addition to the MC line, developed with particular attention to projects involving the construction of anchors or tie rods.

The 20-ton MC 20 A drill rig is a particularly compact hydraulic drill equipped with a loader for rods and coatings.

The rotating loader, which allows the mechanized handling of the drilling equipment, is capable of managing up to nine pairs of rods or linings for a total of 30 metres of double battery.

The MC 20 A is designed to deliver a sturdy oscillating undercarriage that adapts to the unevenness of the ground to offer flexible positioning and greater stability. Thanks to the excellent stability and kinematics of the mast, the MC 20 A is able to operate in complete safety even in confined spaces.

The machine is equipped with a 280 hp Cummins QSB6.7 engine, which meets Tier 4 Final emissions regulations.

The powerful motorization allows the simultaneous management of a 200 litre-per-minute pump and a double head system. The latter can be configured as rotary-rotary or rotary-drifter, providing up to 7,193 foot-pounds of torque on the lower head.

Thanks to the power of the compact drilling rig’s control unit and the wide range of accessories available, the MC 20 A can be customized according to customer needs.

To facilitate the extraction of the equipment, the MC 20 A can be equipped with a double or triple clamp.

As well, the drill rig can be operated using the Comacchio radio control.

The Comacchio radio control system allows the control of all the machine functions, including the handling of the equipment. This allows the entire work cycle to be carried out safely by a single operator.
