An American YouTuber has started the construction of a library in Budalangi, Busia county to ease access to information.

Zack Nelson, whose Jerry Rig Everything YouTube channel boasts over 7 million subscribers, announced the project on his YouTube channel alongside Phillip, a Kenyan.

According to Zack, he first met Philip 15 years ago after relocating to the US for studies.

The Kenyan disclosed that he got the idea to build a library after realising there was no one facility within 100 miles from his home village in Western Kenya.

Zack saved up some of his YouTube earnings and raised KSh 9 million.

The DIY YouTuber said that they plan on opening the library by end of 2022 while calling for book donations.

Zack called on his viewers in the US to donate books for the library, while revealing that he will be in Kenya with Philip for the opening.

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya helped raise KSh 1 million to put 100 kids in school.

Maya, boasting over 800,000 subscribers said the project was close to his heart.

He narrated how he had no school uniform or food and that a friend helped him.
